Number:REISSUE 83-T-2

Section: VIm

Date: Dec., 1982
Subject: CUSTOM CRUISE III SERVO MODIFICATION - 1983 CHEVROLET TRUCKS WITH L6 ENGINES

CUSTOM CRUISE MODIFICATION:

TO: ALL CHEVROLET DEALERS

This bulletin is being reissued to correct the labor operation number.

The servo mounting location on L6 engines could result in water accumulating in the servo dust cover. A production change has been made to the servo, which provides a drain hole as shown in the illustration below.
If during pre-delivery inspection it is determined that the service cover drain hole is missing, the following procedure should be followed:

1. Remove the servo assembly from the vehicle.

2. Place the assembly on a bench with the cover in the up position, remove the servo cover screws and lift off the cover. DO NOT INVERT the servo assembly once the cover has been removed.

3. Drill a 3/16" (4.7 mm) hole through the center of "C" of the logo on the cover.

4. Clean the cover of drill filings.

5. Reinstall cover and screws.

6. Reinstall servo.
