Subject: ERRATIC SHIFTS ON THM 200-4R, 1983 THM 200-4R (BR MODEL)
TO: ALL CHEVROLET DEALERS
1983 THM 200-4R Model "BR" transmissions may experience erratic shifts, or some felt as a soft 1-2 and 2-3 shifts.
To reduce these erratic shifts, a new Intermediate Servo Assembly went into production in late October, 1982.
When servicing any 1983 THM 200-4R model "BR" transmission with any erratic shift condition, that has a "3-BR-1" or a "3-BR-2" ink stamp on the top, front bell housing of the transmission, replace the Intermediate Servo Assembly with service part numbers:
