Clutch Master Cylinder: Service and Repair

Description:

REMOVAL

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.

2. Remove hush panel from passenger compartment then disconnect push rod from clutch pedal.

3. Disconnect slave cylinder hydraulic line from master cylinder.

4. Remove master cylinder retaining nuts and the master cylinder.

INSTALLATION

1. Install master cylinder assembly and torque retaining nuts to 10-15 ft. lbs.

2. Connect push rod to clutch pedal and install retaining clip.

3. Install hush panel, then connect slave cylinder hydraulic line to master cylinder.

4. Fill master cylinder reservoir with new brake fluid, then bleed system as described under "Clutch System, Bleed."
