Reassemble
1. Install converter housing bushing if removed, using tools J 21465-17 and J8092 or equivalents until flush with front of housing. Install new oil seal using tool J21359.
2. Using tools J 25019-2 and J 8092 or equivalents, install new front pump bushing if removed.
3. Install new rear inner pump hub bushing if removed, as follows:
a. Clean all holes and pockets in pump body. Scribe a mark on inner diameter of shaft hole at center of oil groove to the right of hole "A."
b. Scribe a mark on outer diameter of bushing through the center of small and large drilled holes "B."
c. Place bushing into pump hub with small hole up, then align scribe mark on bushing with scribe mark on shaft hole. Using a press and tool J 23130-1 or equivalent, drive bushing into pump shaft hole until seated in bore, Fig. 14. Bushing must be pressed in straight, using scribe marks as a guide until firmly seated.
4. Install spring valve retainer and screen in clutch control port of pump body.
5. Install plug, valve, spring, seats, boost valve, sleeve and retaining ring in pressure port of pump body.
6. Lubricate and install seals on reverse clutch piston, then install piston into rear of pump body.
7. Install clutch return springs, spring seat, and place snap ring on seat.
8. Install clutch spring compressor J 23327 or equivalent and compress clutch springs, then install snap ring and remove J 23327.
9. Install oil pump gears in original position, then install oil pump wear plate.
10. Install converter housing onto pump assembly.
11. Loosely install pump bolts, then install assembly alignment tool J 23082 or equivalent until if bottoms on pump gear. Failure to use J 23082 may cause pump darnage or premature failure.
12. Evenly torque pump bolts to 7 lb. ft., then to 14 lb. ft., then remove J 23082.
13. Lubricate and install a new converter housing to case rubber oil seal.
