Water Pump: Service and Repair

Remove or Disconnect
1. Coolant from the radiator
2. Drive belt.
3. Upper fan shroud.
4. Fan and fan clutch assembly.
5. Water pump pulley.
6. Clamps and hoses.
7. Bolts and stud.
8. Water pump.
9. Gaskets.
Inspect
^ All parts and replace as necessary.

Important
^ Be sure all mating surfaces are free of burrs or other imperfections.

Install or Connect
1. Gaskets in place.
2. Water pump.
3. Bolts and stud. Coat bolt threads with sealant 1052080 or equivalent.
Tighten
^ Bolts to 23 N.m (17 ft. lbs.).
^ Studs to 30 N.m (22 ft. lbs.).

4. Clamps and hoses
5. Water pump pulley.
