Model and Year: 1989-90 G TRUCK WITH 6.2L DIESEL (VIN CODE C, J) ENGINE
TO: ALL CHEVROLET DEALERS

Condition:

Some 1989-90 G-vans with the 6.2L diesel may exhibit a noise/vibration when the air conditioning compressor is engaged. This noise/vibration normally occurs between 50 to 65 MPH.

Cause:

This noise/vibration is the result of a resonance set up in the accessory drive system with air conditioning and compressor engaged.

Correction:

A new A/C compressor front adjusting bracket, P/N 10163738 which replaces the existing bracket, has been released to correct this condition.
