Model and Year: 1989 G TRUCKS WITH AIR CONDITIONING AND 7.4L (VIN CODE N) ENGINE
TO: ALL CHEVROLET DEALERS
A new accessory drive belt has been released for use on G3 vehicles equipped with a 7.4L (L19) engine and C60/C69 (air conditioning). The new belt, GM Part Number 10129580 (which replaced P/N 10101120) is approximately 20 mm shorter in length and will eliminate the possibility of the belt tensioner "bottoming" out after belt break in.
Parts are expected to be available on November 13, 1989. Until then, normal part orders will not be accepted by GMSPO. Only verifiable emergency VIP orders will be accepted. SPO will make every effort to obtain parts. All parts will be placed on 400 control to waive VIP surcharges. However, the part will be shipped premium transportation at dealer's expense. All other order types will be canceled as incorrectly ordered while the 400 control is in place.
