Power Steering Reservoir Inlet Pipe/Hose Replacement

Removal Procedure





1. Use a siphon in order to remove the power steering fluid from the reservoir (6).

Important: The power steering fluid reservoir inlet pipe includes an inlet hose and an inlet pipe. The inlet hose connects the reservoir to the inlet pipe. The inlet pipe connects the inlet hose to the power steering gear outlet hose.

2. Loosen the power steering fluid reservoir inlet hose clamp at the power steering gear outlet hose.

Notice: Refer to Power Steering Hose Disconnected Notice in Cautions and Notices.

Important: Place a drain pan under the vehicle in order to catch any escaping fluid.

3. Remove the power steering fluid reservoir inlet pipe from the power steering gear outlet hose.
4. Remove the 3 bolts from the 3 power steering fluid reservoir inlet pipe clamps.
5. Loosen the inlet hose clamp at the reservoir (6).
6. Remove the inlet hose (5) from the reservoir.

Installation Procedure

Notice: Refer to Installing Hoses Without Twists or Bends Notice in Cautions and Notices.





1. Install the inlet hose (5) to the reservoir (6).





2. Secure the hose to the reservoir (3) with the hose clamp.
3. Install the inlet pipe to the power steering gear outlet hose.
4. Secure the pipe to the hose with the hose clamp.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

5. Secure the 3 power steering fluid reservoir inlet pipe clamps with the 3 bolts.
- Tighten the bolts to 11 Nm (8.0 ft. lbs.).

6. Add power steering fluid to the reservoir. Refer to Checking and Adding Power Steering Fluid.

7. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Bleeding Power Steering System.
