Side Door Opening Weatherstrip Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the hinge pillar upper garnish.
2. Remove the hinge pillar lower garnish molding.
3. Remove the passenger side front corner garnish molding.
4. Remove the passenger side body side trim panel.
5. Remove the side door stepwell mat.




6. Remove the retainers at the lower corners of the side door opening weatherstrip.




7. Pull the side door opening weatherstrip from the door opening pinch-weld flange.




8. Remove the side door opening weatherstrip from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure




1. Apply weatherstrip adhesive into the channel on the side door opening weatherstrip. Use GM P/N 12345097 (Canadian P/N 10953479) or the equivalent.

Important: When installing the side door opening weatherstrip, ensure that the corners have not pulled away from the body.

2. Install the side door opening weatherstrip to the vehicle.




3. Align the channel on the side door opening weatherstrip to the door opening pinch-weld flange starting at the corners.
Press the weatherstrip into place.




4. Install the retainers at the ends of the side door opening weatherstrip to the holes in the door opening.
5. Install the hinge pillar upper garnish.
6. Install the hinge pillar lower garnish molding.
7. Install the passenger side front corner garnish molding.
8. Install the passenger side body side trim panel.
9. Install the side door step well mat.
