Transmission Fluid Cooler Hose/Pipe Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the front bumper fascia. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Replacement (Escalade) Front Bumper Fascia Replacement (Tahoe) Front Bumper Fascia Replacement (Avalanche) Front Bumper Fascia Replacement (Z71) Front Bumper Fascia Replacement (Yukon) .
2. Remove the front upper fascia support fasteners in order to tip the bracket back. Refer to Front Upper Fascia Support Bracket Replacement .




3. Remove the transmission fluid cooler hose from the Auxiliary oil cooler. Refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler Hose/Pipe Quick-Connect Fitting Disconnection and Connection (Service and Repair) .
4. Remove the transmission fluid cooler hose from the radiator. Refer toTransmission Fluid Cooler Hose/Pipe Quick-Connect Fitting Disconnection and Connection (Service and Repair) .
5. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
6. Remove the engine protection shield. Refer to Engine Shield Replacement .




7. Remove the cooling lines from the transmission. Refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler Hose/Pipe Quick-Connect Fitting Disconnection and Connection (Service and Repair) .




8. Remove the right differential carrier mounting nuts and washers.

Notice: Do not use air powered tools in order to disassemble or assemble any vehicle component. Bolt torques are vital to diagnosis. You can detect bolt torques only when using hand tools. Improper bolt torques can contribute to vehicle repair problems.





9. Remove the right front shock rear mounting bolt only from the lower control arm.
10. Remove the oil cooling lines rearward from the vehicle.



Installation Procedure





1. Install the transmission oil cooler lines to the vehicle.

Notice: Do not use air powered tools in order to disassemble or assemble any vehicle component. Bolt torques are vital to diagnosis. You can detect bolt torques only when using hand tools. Improper bolt torques can contribute to vehicle repair problems.


Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice .





2. Install the right shock rear mounting bolt on the lower control arm.

Tighten the bolt to 50N.m (37 lb ft).





3. Install the right differential carrier mounting nuts and washers.

Tighten the mounting nuts to 100N.m (75 lb ft).

4. Install the cooling lines to the transmission. Refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler Hose/Pipe Quick-Connect Fitting Disconnection and Connection (Service and Repair) .




5. Install the engine protection shield. Refer to Engine Shield Replacement .
6. Lower the vehicle.
7. Install the transmission fluid cooler hose to the radiator. Refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler Hose/Pipe Quick-Connect Fitting Disconnection and Connection (Service and Repair) .
8. Install the transmission fluid cooler hose to the auxiliary oil cooler. Refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler Hose/Pipe Quick-Connect Fitting Disconnection and Connection (Service and Repair) .
9. Install the front upper fascia support bracket. Refer to Front Upper Fascia Support Bracket Replacement .
10. Install the front bumper fascia. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Replacement (Escalade) Front Bumper Fascia Replacement (Tahoe) Front Bumper Fascia Replacement (Avalanche) Front Bumper Fascia Replacement (Z71) Front Bumper Fascia Replacement (Yukon) .
