Engine Oil Cooler Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (Cooling System Draining and Filling).
2. Remove the intake camshaft position (CMP) sensor. Refer to Camshaft Position Sensor Replacement - Intake (Camshaft Position Sensor Replacement - Intake).
3. Reposition the radiator outlet hose clamp (1) at the thermostat housing.
4. Remove the radiator outlet hose (2) from the thermostat housing for access and removal of the oil cooler.
5. Reposition the radiator outlet hose clamp (3) at the oil cooler.
6. Remove the radiator outlet hose (4) from the oil cooler.
7. Reposition the engine oil cooler outlet hose clamp (1) at the oil cooler.
8. Remove the engine oil cooler outlet hose (2) from the oil cooler.
9. Remove the oil cooler bolts.
10. Remove the oil cooler.
Installation Procedure
1. Position the oil cooler to the engine block.
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).
2. Install the oil cooler bolts.
Tighten the bolts to 22 Nm (16 lb ft).
3. Install the engine oil cooler outlet hose (2) to the oil cooler.
4. Position the engine oil cooler outlet hose clamp (1) at the oil cooler.
5. Install the radiator outlet hose to the oil cooler.
6. Install the radiator outlet hose to the thermostat housing.
7. Position the radiator outlet hose clamp (2) at the thermostat housing.
8. Position the radiator outlet hose clamp (1) at the oil cooler.
9. Install the intake CMP sensor. Refer to Camshaft Position Sensor Replacement - Intake (Camshaft Position Sensor Replacement - Intake).
10. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (Cooling System Draining and Filling).
