Inspection

1. Measure the following oil pump clearances:

Fig. 45 Measuring Oil Pump Endplay:

a. Endplay should be .0010-.0035 inch.

Fig. 46 Measuring Oil Pump Outer Rotor Thickness:

b. Outer rotor specifications. Thickness should be .9435 inch minimum and 2.469 inches minimum diameter. Install outer rotor with chamfered edge in pump body.

Fig. 47 Measuring Clearance Between Oil Pump Rotors:

c. Clearance between rotors should be .008 inch maximum.

Fig. 48 Measuring Oil Pump Outer Rotor Clearance:

d. Outer rotor clearance should be .014 inch maximum.

Fig. 49 Measuring Oil Pump Cover Clearance:

e. Oil pump cover clearance should be .003 inch maximum.
f. Oil pressure relief valve spring free length should be 1.95 inches.
