Fuel Delivery System:

PURPOSE

Supplies engine with sufficient amount filtered fuel at correct pressure.

Feedback from oxygen sensor and engine sensors allows compensation for changes in atmospheric conditions (temperature, altitude, etc.) as well as mechanical conditions (such as state of tune, etc.).

OPERATION

Electric pump pushes fuel through in line filter, to fuel rail, injectors, and pressure regulator.

Vacuum assisted regulator maintains pressure at injectors by allowing excess fuel to return to tank via return line.

Powertrain Control Module (PCM) controls fuel flow through injectors by varying injector pulse width.

CONSTRUCTION

Fuel Delivery system consists of fuel tank, fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel rail, fuel injectors (4), and fuel pressure regulator.
