Level Control Solenoid Valve: Service and Repair
NOTE: Open trunk, door(s) or disconnect battery ground cable before raising vehicle. Rear air springs must be deflated before being removed from vehicle.CAUTION: Do not attempt to remove or install solenoids while the Automatic Air Suspension (AAS) system is supporting the vehicle.
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Raise and support vehicle, then remove wheel and tire.
3. Disconnect solenoid electrical connector.

4. Disconnect air line. Refer to AIR LINES. Solenoids have molded square tangs that fit into stepped notches of the air spring housing. The notches provide an air relief position and a retaining position. The retaining position is locked with a retaining clip.
5. Remove retaining clip.

6. Rotate solenoid to second step in housing to allow air pressure to vent.
7. Rotate solenoid to release slot, then remove solenoid.

8. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Inspect O-ring condition and position. O-ring can become dislodged during removal.
b. Install solenoid with tangs to top ledge of housing, then install retaining clip.
