THIS BULLETIN APPLIES TO VEHICLES BUILT PRIOR TO May 27, 1998 (MDH 0527XX).

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:

The vinyl material on the upper bolster portion of the door trim panel(s) on these vehicles may separate when exposed to high heat conditions.

DIAGNOSIS:

If any one of the door trim panel vinyl bolsters is separating on the suspect vehicles all four door trim panels must be replaced.

Vehicles equipped with the sales code ADR Infinity speaker system have speakers that are mounted in the rear doors.

NOTE:
EACH DOOR TRIM PANEL KIT CONTAINS FOUR DOOR TRIM PANELS, ONE FOR EACH DOOR. THE KITS MUST BE ORDERED USING V.O.R. PROCEDURES, WITH THE PARTS BEING SHIPPED DIRECTLY FROM THE SUPPLIER TO THE DEALERSHIP.

NOTE:
NORMAL PARTS ORDERING AND REPLACEMENT PROCEDURES SHOULD BE USED FOR OTHER THAN BOLSTER VINYL SEPARATING ON VEHICLES BUILT DURING THIS PERIOD.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

This bulletin involves replacing the door trim panels with revised parts.

Replace all four door trim panels using the procedures outlined in the 1999 LHS and 3OOM Service Manual Supplement, publication number 81-270-8140A. The front door trim panel replacement procedure is outlined on pages 23-22 and 23-23, while the procedure for the rear door is outlined on pages 23-38 and 23-39. Use care when installing the new trim panels to prevent breakage of the retaining clips. Please verify that all speakers, switches, lamps, etc. function properly after the trim panels are replaced.
