REMOVAL SERVICE POINT
RADIATOR LOWER HOSE DISCONNECTION
Place a mating mark on the radiator hose and the hose clamp. Then, disconnect the radiator hose.

INSTALLATION SERVICE POINTS

Install the thermostat so that the jiggle valve is facing straight up.
Caution:
Make absolutely sure that no oil adheres to the rubber ring of the thermostat. Also be careful not to fold over or scratch the rubber ring when. inserting.

(1) insert each hose as far as the projection of the water outlet fitting or water inlet fitting.
(2) Align the mating marks on the radiator hose and hose clamp, and then connect the radiator hose.
INSPECTION
THERMOSTAT CHECK
^ Check that the valve closes tightly at room temperature.
^ Check for defects or damage.
^ Check-for rust or other contamination on the valve, and remove if necessary.
^ Immerse thermostat in a container of hot water. Stir to raise water temperature and check that the thermostat, valve opening temperature and the water temperature with valve fully open 9 mm (0.35 inches) are at the standard value.
Standard value:
Valve opening temperature: 82°C (180°F)
Full-opening temperature: 95°C (203°F)
NOTE:
Measure valve height when fully closed. Calculate lift by measuring the height When fully open.
