Rear Crankshaft Main Bearing Seal: Service and Repair
CRANKSHAFT REAR OIL SEALREMOVAL SERVICE POINTS
CRANKSHAFT BOLT BACKING PLATE REMOVAL
Stop the crankshaft pulley from turning, and remove the crankshaft bolt backing plate.
Caution: Use only the specified special tools, or the crankshaft pulley damper could be damaged.
CRANKSHAFT REAR OIL SEAL REMOVAL
(1) Make a notch in the lip of the oil seal with a knife, etc.
(2) Cover the end of (-) screwdriver with a shop towel, and insert into the notched section of the oil seal, and lever out the oil seal to remove it.
Caution: Do not damage the crankshaft and the oil seal case.
INSTALLATION SERVICE POINTS

(1) Apply a small amount of engine oil to the oil seal lip and then insert.
(2) Tap the oil seal into the cylinder block.
>B<CRANKSHAFT BOLT BACKING PLATE INSTALLATION
Stop the crankshaft pulley from turning, and then tighten the bolts to the specified torque.
Tightening torque: 92 Nm (68 ft. lbs.)
Caution: Use only the specified special tools, or the crankshaft pulley damper could be damaged.
