Positive Crankcase Ventilation: Testing and Inspection

CRANKCASE VENTILATION SYSTEM CHECK
1. Remove the rocker cover side of the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) valve hose.
2. Start the engine and run at idle.




3. Place a finger at the opening of the PCV valve and confirm that vacuum of the intake manifold is felt.

NOTE: At this time, the plunger in the PCV valve moves forward and backward.

4. If vacuum is not felt, replace the PCV valve.
