Front Crankshaft Seal: Service and Repair





REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

Required Special Tools:
- MB991367: Special Spanner
- MB998375: Crankshaft Front Oil Seal Installation

Removal Service Point
<> Crankshaft Sprocket Removal





1. Use the crankshaft pulley mounting bolt to secure special tool MB991367.
2. Loosen the crankshaft sprocket mounting bolt, and remove the sprocket.

Installation Service Points

1. Apply engine oil to the entire inside diameter of the oil seal lip.
2. Use special tool MD998375 to press-fit the oil seal until it is flush with the front case.

Crankshaft Sensing Blade Installation





Install the crankshaft sensing blade so that they face as shown in the illustration.

>>C<< Crankshaft Sprocket Installation





1. Use the crankshaft pulley mounting bolt to secure special tool MB991367.
2. Tighten the crankshaft sprocket bolt to the specified torque.
Tightening torque: 118 ± 9 Nm (87 ± 7 ft. lbs.)
