Fuel Fill Check Valve

FUEL FILL CHECK VALVE

DESCRIPTION

All vehicles are equipped with an inlet check valve on the inside of the fuel tank at the filler tube.

The check valve prevents fuel from splashing back during vehicle refueling. The valve cannot be adjusted or repaired. If faulty, worn, or damaged, the entire fuel tank must be replaced as an assembly.

OPERATION

When the fuel tank is full, a float closes a flap at the bottom insert. The fuel filler neck is filled rapidly and the gasoline pump nozzle switches off.
