No Communication With CD/DVD Changer - Radio

NO COMMUNICATION WITH CD/DVD CHANGER - RADIO





For a complete wiring diagram refer to Diagrams/Electrical.

- When Monitored:

With the ignition on.

- Set Condition:

The module misses 5 successive periodic messages or has not received an in-frame response after 3 consecutive retries.





1. CHECK FOR ADDITIONAL COMMUNICATION RELATED DTCs

With the scan tool, check for any other lost communication codes.

Is there any other Lost Communication DTCs present?

Yes

- Check the J1850 Communication Circuits for any possible short to ground, short to voltage or open conditions.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test

No

- Go To 2

2. (Z530) GROUND CIRCUIT OPEN





Turn the ignition off.

Disconnect the CD/DVD Changer harness connector.

Measure the resistance of the (Z530) Ground circuit at the CD/DVD harness connector.

Is the resistance below 10.0 ohms?

Yes

- Go To 3

No

- Repair the (Z530) Ground circuit for an open.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test

3. (A118) FUSED B+ CIRCUIT OPEN





Turn the ignition on.

Turn the Radio on and place the Radio in CD/DVD Changer mode.

Measure the voltage of the (A118) Fused B+ circuit in the CD/DVD harness connector.

Is the voltage above 10.0 volts?

Yes

- Go To 4

No

- Repair the (A118) Fused B+ circuit for an open.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test

4. (X112) IGNITION RUN/ACC SIGNAL CIRCUIT OPEN





With the Radio still on and in CD/DVD Changer mode.

Measure the voltage of the (X112) Ignition RUN/ACC Signal circuit in the CD/DVD harness connector.

Is the voltage above 10.0 volts?

Yes

- Go To 5

No

- Repair the (X112) Ignition RUN/ACC Signal circuit for an open.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test

5. (D25) PCI BUS CIRCUIT OPEN





Turn the ignition off.

Measure the resistance of the (D25) PCI BUS circuit between the Radio C2 harness connector and the CD/DVD Changer harness connector.

Is the resistance below 10.0 ohms?

Yes

- Replace the CD/DVD Changer.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test

No

- Repair the (D25) PCI BUS circuit for an open.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test
