Liftgate Ajar Circuit Open - Without Power Liftgate

*LIFTGATE AJAR CIRCUIT OPEN - WITHOUT POWER LIFTGATE

Diagnostic Test

1. BCM NOT RESPONDING TO INPUT

Open the liftgate.

With the scan tool in Inputs/Outputs, read the LIFTGATE AJAR SW state.

Does the scan tool display CLOSED?

Yes

- Replace the Body Control Module.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test

No

- Go To 2

2. (Z87) GROUND CIRCUIT OPEN





Disconnect the Liftgate Latch connector.

Using a 12-volt Test Light connected to 12-volts, check the (Z87) Ground circuit.

Does the test light illuminate?

Yes

- Go To 3

No

- Repair the (Z78) Ground circuit for an open.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test

3. (G78) LIFTGATE AJAR SWITCH SENSE CIRCUIT OPEN





Turn the ignition off.

Disconnect the BCM C3 harness connector.

Measure the resistance of the (G78) Liftgate Ajar Switch Sense circuit from the Liftgate Latch connector to the BCM C3 connector.

Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?

Yes

- Replace the Liftgate Latch.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test

No

- Repair the (G78) Liftgate Ajar Switch Sense circuit for an open.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test
