Front Washer Switch Input Stuck-BCM
FRONT WASHER SWITCH INPUT STUCK-BCM

Diagnostic Test
1. VERIFY SWITCH STATE
Turn the ignition on.
With the scan tool, select Body, Body Control Module and read the Front Washer Switch state.
Does the scan tool display switch state as Closed?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Go To 4
2. WIPER/WASHER SWITCH
Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Wiper/Washer Switch harness connector.
Turn the ignition on.
With the scan tool, select Body, Front Control Module and read the Front Washer Switch state.
Does the scan tool display switch state as Open?
Yes
- Replace the Wiper/Washer Switch.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test
No
- Go To 3
3. (W52) FRONT WIPER SWITCH MUX CIRCUIT SHORTED TO GROUND
Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Wiper/Washer Switch harness connector.
Disconnect the BCM C5 harness connector.
Measure the resistance between ground and the (W52) Front Wiper Switch MUX circuit.
Is the resistance below 1000.0 ohms?
Yes
- Repair the (W52) Front Wiper Switch MUX circuit for a short to ground.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test
No
- Replace the Body Control Module.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test
4. INTERMITTENT WIRING PROBLEM
Turn the ignition on.
With the scan tool, erase all BCM DTCs.
Turn the ignition off.
NOTE: Visually inspect the related wiring harness and circuits. Look for any chafed, pierced, pinched, or partially broken wires.
NOTE: Visually inspect the related wiring harness connectors. Look for broken, bent, pushed out, or corroded terminals.
NOTE: Refer to any Technical Service Bulletins (TSB) that may apply.
Were any problems found?
Yes
- Repair as necessary.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test
No
- Test Complete.
