SEAT BELT WEB STOP BUTTON

The only component of the seat belt and retractor that is available for individual service replacement is the plastic web stop button that prevents the latch plate from falling to the floor while in the stored position. Refer to the instructions supplied with the service kit for the proper web stop button replacement procedures.

1. Open hood, disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.

WARNING: Wait two minutes for the airbag system reserve capacitor to discharge before beginning any airbag system or component service. Failure to do so may result in accidental airbag deployment, personal injury or death.

2. Remove lower seat belt anchor bolt cover (11) and lower seat belt anchor bolt from lower B-pillar (9).

3. Remove the lower B-pillar trim.

4. Disconnect the retractor electrical connector (8).

5. Remove the two B-pillar seat belt retaining ring (15) mounting screws (14) and then retaining ring from seat belt webbing (6).

6. Remove the two seat belt retractor mounting bolts (7).

7. Grasp the height adjuster knob cover (4) and gently pull inward, separating it from the seat belt height adjuster (2).

8. Remove the turning loop retaining bolt (5) from the seat belt height adjuster (2).

9. Remove seat belt (6) and retractor (7) from vehicle.

NOTE: If equipped with the Occupant Classification System (OCS), there will be a harness pigtail (1) attached to the lower anchor bracket (3). Take care not to damage this while removing the lower B-pillar trim and anchor bolt (2).
