Installation

INSTALLATION




1. Loosen the PTU to transaxle bracket if not already loose.
2. Install new O-ring onto PTU.
3. Apply RTV, 05010884AA, to the PTU O-ring.





NOTE: The sequence below should always be followed when installing the PTU

4. Install PTU into position. Install (2) PTU-to-transmission adaptor bolts and torque to 22 Nm (30 ft. lbs.).
5. Install the PTU Heat shield.
6. Install PTU-to-transaxle bracket upper bolts and tighten to 54 Nm (40 ft. lbs.)
7. Tighten 3 PTU to transaxle bracket bolts to 100 Nm (75 ft. lbs.).
8. Install PTU/rear mount bracket. Install and tighten bolts to 54 Nm (40 ft. lbs.).
9. Install propeller shaft assembly.
10. Install right halfshaft assembly.
11. Install engine cradle crossmember.
12. Install exhaust to engine.
13. Check and adjust PTU Fluid level. The PTU holds .8L (1.7 Pints.) of Mopar(R) 75W-90 Gear and Axle Lubricant.
