Diagnostic Test

1. READING TPM DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES
NOTE: DTC 8004 will always be set in conjunction with one or more of the Tire Pressure Sensor/Transmitter Failure DTCs. Either 8017 (LF Tire), 8018 (RF Tire), 8019 (RR Tire), or 8020 (RF Tire) will be set along with the 8004 code.

NOTE: The Tire Pressure Sensor/Transmitters can set this DTC if the vehicle is sitting still for a prolonged period of time and the key is ON. The Tire Pressure Sensor/Transmitter must be tested properly prior to replacement.

Turn the ignition on.
With the scan tool, read and record the TPM DTCs.
Refer to the appropriate Tire Pressure Sensor/Transmitter Failure DTC for proper diagnostic and repair procedures.
