Engine Coolant Thermostat - Removal

2.7L ENGINE

1. Disconnect negative cable from remote jumper terminal. Service and Repair






2. Remove accessory drive belts Serpentine Accessory Drive Belt - Removal.
3. Raise vehicle on hoist. Vehicle Lifting






4. Remove left front wheel and splash shield.
5. Drain cooling system Service and Repair.






6. Remove A/C Compressor mounting bolt (1). Position A/C Compressor aside.






7. Remove the nuts (4) that secure the heater line (3) to the thermostat housing and position aside.
8. Remove the upper thermostat housing bolt (2).
9. Remove the lower thermostat housing studs (5).
10. Remove thermostat housing (1)
11. Remove the hose from the thermostat housing.
12. Remove radiator hose tube mounting bolt (3).
13. Disconnect hose clamps (1) at thermostat housing.
14. Remove thermostat housing bolts.
15. Remove thermostat and housing.
