Brake Pad: Service and Repair

Refer to Fig. 1, when servicing disc brake system.


1. Raise and support vehicle and remove tire and wheel assembly.
2. Remove caliper attaching bolts.
3. Remove the disc brake pad and anti-squeal shims.
4. Detach the disc brake guide plate.
5. Drain a small amount of brake fluid from the master cylinder reservoir.
6. Push in caliper piston using suitable tool.
7. Reverse procedure to install, torque bolts to specifications.
