Water Pump: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Drain coolant from radiator.
3. Remove timing belt. Refer to TIMING BELT.
4. On 1.0L/3-60.6 models, remove thermostat housing.
5. Remove throttle body hose.
6. On all models, remove water pump attaching bolts.
7. Reverse procedure to install noting the following:
a. On 1.0L/3-60.6 models, replace thermostat housing O-ring.
b. Remove water pump gasket material from engine block mating surface.
