Trunk / Liftgate Shock / Support: Service and Repair

Liftgate Support Cylinder:

1. Release liftgate latch and open liftgate.
2. Support liftgate on a suitable lifting device.
3. Pull liftgate opening weatherstrip from D-pillar flange next to support cylinder end pivot.
4. Remove screw holding end pivot to D-pillar.
5. Remove screw holding support cylinder to liftgate.
6. Separate support cylinder from vehicle.
7. Reverse the preceding operation.
