B. Replace Integrated Child Seat Attaching Screws
1. Close the integrated child seats and fold the bench seat back forward.2. Remove the bench seat back cover.
3. Disconnect both child seat lower J-clips from seat support (Figure 1).
4. Remove the four (4) screws (two per seat) holding the child seat assembly hinges to the seat back frame lower rail (Figure 1). If the head of a screw is broken, or breaks during removal, the threaded portion of the screw can be removed by lifting the hinge and using side cutters or vice grips.
NOTE:
Make sure interlock arm on outboard side of each child seat is properly positioned.
5. Using the provided screws (two per seat), secure the lower child seat assembly hinges to the bench seat back frame lower rail. Torque all four screws to 70 in-lbs (8 N.m).
6. Install bench seat back cover.
7. Return bench seat back to upright position.
8. Raise both head rests. Disengage push-in fasteners (two per seat) holding the upper bolster to the top of each child seat (Figure 2).
9. Remove the four (4) screws (two per seat) holding the top of the child seat assemblies to the seat back frame upper rail (Figure 3). If the head of a screw is broken, or breaks during removal, the threaded portion of the screw can be removed by using side cutters or vice grips. If necessary, the upper portion of the child seat can be pulled forward and the broken screw can be removed from the bottom side of the seat frame.
10. Using the provided screws (two per seat), secure the child seats to the bench seat back upper frame rail. Torque all four screws to 70 in-lbs (8 N.m).
11. Remove and discard the old upper bolster push-in fasteners (two per seat). Install the provided push-in fasteners and secure the upper bolster to each child seat assembly (Figure 2).
12. Verify hinge inter-lock operation by unfolding child seat and trying to fold bench seat back forward. Seat back should not fold. Return child seats to stowed position and try to told bench seat back forward. Seat back should fold.
13. Verify child restraint operation by buckling and unbuckling the latch assembly. Check for locked and unlocked belts respectively.
