B. Inspect Latch Plate Operation

1. Inspect the seat belt latch plate on both child seat assemblies. Make sure that the latch plate moves freely and the area around the latch plate is free from debris.

2. ^ If one or both latch plates do not move freely, the affected latch plate(s) must be cleaned and lubricated. Continue with Section C.

^ If both latch plates move freely and no debris has accumulated around the latch plate, no further action is necessary.
