Camshaft Gear/Sprocket: Service and Repair

1. Remove timing belt front cover and belt as outlined under "Timing Belt, Replace".
2. Remove camshaft sprocket bolt.

3. Remove sprocket from camshaft with modified sprocket removal tool No. C-4687-1, or equivalent. Hold camshaft sprocket with modified tool while removing bolt.
4. Remove camshaft seal using camshaft seal remover tool No. C-4679, or equivalent.
5. Remove camshaft.
6. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Install new camshaft seal with seal insertion tool No. MD998306, or equivalent.
b. Install camshaft sprocket retaining bolt. Hold camshaft sprocket with tool No. C-4687 and adapter tool No. C-4687-1, or equivalents, and tighten to specifications.
