Evaporative Emission Control System Purge Control Valve Circuit Malfunction

BACKGROUND
The engine control module checks whether current flows in the evaporative emission purge solenoid drive circuit when the solenoid is driven.

RANGE OF CHECK & SET CONDITIONS
Even though the evaporative emission purge solenoid is ON, current does not flow to the coil for 4 seconds. Even though the evaporative emission purge solenoid is OFF, current flows to the coil for 4 seconds.

PROBABLE CAUSES
- Evaporative emission purge solenoid failed.
- Open or shorted evaporative emission purge solenoid circuit, or loose connector.
- Engine control module failed.
