LEFT EXHAUST MANIFOLD





1. Clean the gasket surfaces.

NOTE: If replacing the exhaust manifold, tighten the exhaust outlet studs to 39 Nm (29 ft. lbs.).

2. Position the exhaust manifold (7) and gasket (1). Install the retaining bolts (2). Tighten the bolts starting at the center working outward to 23 Nm (17 ft. lbs.).





3. Connect the catalytic converter to the exhaust manifold. Tighten the ball flange nuts (1) to 34 Nm (25 ft. lbs.).





4. Install the upper (5) and lower (6) exhaust manifold heatshields with two bolts. Tighten the bolts to 12 Nm (105 in.lbs.).





5. Install the engine mount bracket (2) with three bolts (1). Tighten the bolts to 70 Nm (52 ft. lbs.).
6. Install the engine mount Engine Mount Insulator - Installation
7. Install the upstream oxygen sensor Oxygen Sensor - Installation
8. Install the upper two exhaust manifold heat shield nuts. Tighten nuts to 8 Nm (73 in.lbs.).
9. Connect the negative battery cable.
