B25A4-00-FRONT RIGHT DOOR HANDLE SENSOR

NOTE: Before proceeding, check the handle for any foreign material, or binding that could cause a sticking situation to the handle or switch.

- When Monitored:
During a Passive Entry Event.

- Set Condition:
If the hall sensor in the handle stays active for longer than 120 seconds or the magnet is missing, this code will set.





1. TEST FOR INTERMITTENT CONDITION

NOTE: If there are any other active PEM DTCs, perform the diagnostic procedure for them before proceeding.

1. Turn the ignition on.
2. Using the scan tool, record and erase the DTCs.
3. Open the Right Front window.
4. Turn the ignition off and close all doors.
5. Have the FOBIK outside the car and within 10cm. and 1.5 m. (4 in. and 5 ft.) from the window.
6. Lock and Unlock the Right Front Door by the outside handle four times.
7. Open the Right Front Door by pulling the handle.
8. Turn the ignition on.
9. Using the scan tool, read the Active DTCs.

Does the scan tool display: B25A4-00-FRONT RIGHT DOOR HANDLE SENSOR?

Yes

- Go To 3

No

- Go To 2

2. DOOR HANDLE OPERATION

In the previous step, did the Right Front Door Handle lock and unlock the door as it should?

Yes

- Test complete, the condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals and correct pin tension.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.

No

- Go To 3

3. DOOR HANDLE BRACKET
1. Remove the Driver Door Handle. Front Exterior Handle - Removal.
2. Using a non-magnetic screwdriver or knife, check for the presence of a small magnet in the door handle bracket. The magnet is encased in the upper center of the bracket.

Did you feel the magnet pull on the metal tool as it should?

Yes

- Go To 4

No

- Replace the Door Handle Bracket. Front Door Trim Panel - Removal Front Door Watershield - Removal
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.

4. DOOR HANDLE OR PEM
1. Go to the Left Front Door.
2. Open the Left Front Window.
3. Turn the ignition off and close all doors.
4. Have the FOBIK outside the car and within 10cm. and 1.5 m. (4 in. and 5 ft.) from the window.
5. Lock and Unlock the Left Front Door by the outside handle four (4) times.
6. Open the Left Front Door by pulling the handle.

Did the Left Front Door Handle lock and unlock the door as it should?

Yes

- Replace the Right Front Door Handle. Front Exterior Handle - Installation.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.

No

- Replace the PEM Module. Passive Entry Module - Removal.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
