P054A - CAMSHAFT POSITION TIMING OVER - ADVANCED-BANK1 SENSOR 2


- When Monitored:
First 20 seconds after engine start, as long as the engine has been off for at least 1 hour and the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) has come down at least 7°C (18°F), and the vehicle is NOT driven over 3 kPh (2 mph).

- Set Condition:
If the actual cam position for bank 1 is more than 7° advanced (angular variation) from its desired position for at least 4 seconds.

Possible Causes:






For a complete wiring diagram, refer to the Wiring Information .

1. CHECK FOR CURRENT DTC

1. Turn the ignition on.
2. With the scan tool, read PCM DTCs.

Is this DTC present?

Yes

- Diagnose any other Camshaft Position Sensor DTCs before continuing.

No

- Go To 2

2. INTERMITTENT WIRING AND CONNECTORS

1. The conditions necessary to set this DTC are not present at this time.

NOTE: Check connectors - Clean/repair as necessary. Poor pin to terminal connections can set DTCs.Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors specific to this DTC. Wiggle the wires while checking for shorts and open circuits.

NOTE: Check for any Technical Service Bulletins that may apply.

Were there any problems found?

Yes

- Repair as necessary.
- Perform POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Powertrain Verification Test.

No

- The condition that caused this DTC to set is currently not present. Inspect the related wiring harness for a possible intermittent condition.
