Vibration Damper - Installation

INSTALLATION

CAUTION: To prevent severe damage to the crankshaft, damper, and damper installer , thoroughly clean the damper bore and the crankshaft nose before installing damper.





1. Position damper onto crankshaft.
2. Assemble Damper Installer (2) , and the Pressing Cup (1) from A/C Hub Installer.





3. Using Damper Installer (3), and the pressing cup (2) from A/C hub installer press damper (1) onto crankshaft.
4. Install and tighten crankshaft damper bolt to 176 Nm (129 ft. lbs.).
5. Install cooling fan.
6. Install radiator upper shroud and tighten fasteners to 11 Nm (95 in. lbs.).
7. Install radiator upper hose.
8. Install accessory drive belt (1). Serpentine Accessory Drive Belt - Installation.
9. Refill cooling system Service and Repair.
10. Connect negative cable to battery.
