Water Pump - Removal

5.7L ENGINE





1. Disconnect negative battery cable.
2. Remove the air intake assembly Air Cleaner Body - Removal.
3. Remove the resonator mounting bracket.
4. Remove cooling fan assembly Cooling Fan - Removal.
5. Drain coolant into a clean container Service and Repair.
6. Remove the upper radiator hose from the thermostat housing (1) and position aside.
7. Remove serpentine belt Serpentine Accessory Drive Belt - Removal.
8. Remove idler pulley (5).
9. Remove belt tensioner assembly (4) Accessory Drive Belt Tensioner - Removal.
10. Remove lower radiator hose from the water pump and position aside.
11. Remove the upper metal heater tube from the cylinder head.
12. Remove water pump mounting bolts (6) and remove pump (3).
