DISCUSSION:

The oil filter replacement procedure may not be apparent when first attempting filter removal.

Replacement Procedure:

1. With the vehicle raised on a hoist, cover the A/C belts with shop towels or other suitable material to protect them from any oil spillage.

2. Loosen the filter and drain as much oil as possible into a suitable container.

3. The filter can then be removed by working it between the A/C compressor and power steering pump, then between the rear of the power steering high pressure hose, and then out between the A/C compressor clutch and frame rail.

CAUTION:
THE ENGINE OIL MAY BE HOT AND THERE ARE SEVERAL ENGINE COMPONENTS IN THE AREA THAT MAY ALSO BE HOT.

4. Reverse procedure for filter installation.
