Rear

1. Remove lower arm as describe in "Lower Arm Replace" found in this section.

2. Mount tool No. MB990998 or equivalent to lower arm then torque tool to 145-188 ft. lbs. Rotate hub to seat bearing.

3. Measure wheel bearing starting torque as shown, reading should be 9 inch lbs or less.

4. Measure rear hub endplay as shown. Limit is 0.0020 inches.

5. Remove axle hub in sequence as shown, noting the following:
a. Use tool No MB990241 and MB990211 or equivalents, to remove hub from lower arm.

b. Using tool No. MB990560 or equivalent remove wheel bearing inner race from hub.

c. Remove wheel bearing from lower arm as shown.
6. Reverse procedure to install noting the following:

a. Press new wheel bearing on to lower arm as shown.

b. Press hub onto wheel bearing as shown.
