Replacement

1. On models with speed control, remove speed control actuator from righthand strut.

2. Remove strut assembly as shown, noting the following:
a. Suspend lower arm from vehicle with a wire.

3. Disassemble strut assembly as shown, noting the following:

Fig. 11 Removing self locking nut using special tool:

a. Compress coil spring using tools No. MB991238 and MB991237 or equivalents, then remove locking nut.
4. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Air tool should never be used to tighten spring compressing tools.
