1. Remove differential carrier in sequence as shown, noting the following:
a. Make mating mark on differential companion flange and flange of yoke for reference during reassembly.
b. Support lower section of differential carrier with a jack when removing carrier.
2. Reverse procedure to install noting the following:

a. Install mount stopper as shown.

b. Do not damage oil seal of differential carrier with spline section of companion shaft. The righthand shaft on vehicles that have LSD with VCU has a two stage serration. The left and right end can be determined from stampings on companion shaft.
c. Fill differential carrier with GL-5 gear oil or higher.
