DISCUSSION:
A modification has been developed to direct more defrost airflow to the lower part of the windshield. This modification will reduce the windshield defrost time in severe climates. **This procedure should be performed on all vehicles in northern climates.
PARTS REQUIRED:
**1 Pkg. Four Foam Strips 4746277**
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
This repair involves redirecting air flow by adding foam to each of the defroster ducts.
1. Remove the instrument panel top cover as described on Page 8E-8 of the 1993 Concorde/Intrepid/Vision Service Manual (Publication No. 81-270-3140).
2. Install one foam strip on the horizontal surface at the rear edge of each of the four defroster ducts as shown in the following figures. The front edge of the foam must be flush with the rear edge of the opening in the defroster metal plate.
3. Reinstall the instrument panel top cover.
