SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Some 3.5L engine equipped vehicles may exhibit oil smoke in the exhaust and excessive oil consumption. Engine operation above 5000 RPM may aggravate this condition.
PARTS REQUIRED:
1 Make-Up Air Restrictor 4663476
1 Authorized Modification Label 4275086
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
This repair involves adding a make-up air restrictor to the make-up air system.
1. Remove the make-up air hose from the rear of the right valve cover.
2. Snap the make-up air restrictor, PN 4663476, into the exposed nipple on the valve cover.
3. Install the make-up air hose on the nipple.
4. Type the required information on the authorized modification label as shown, and attach near the Veci Label.
