CODE NAME
Code No. 54, 86 Incorrect 4th Gear Ratio

DESCRIPTION
After a shift to the 4th speed has been completed, if the value of the PG-A output (input shaft speed) divided by the 4th gear ratio does not coincide with the PG-B output (output shaft speed), code No. 54 is output. If associated diagnostic trouble code (No. 51, 52, 53, 54) is output four times, fail safe code No. 86 is output to indicate that the 4th gear ratio is incorrect and this activates the fail safe function to lock transaxle at the 3rd speed (D) or 2nd speed (2, L).

- Noise generated
- Defective kickdown brake
- Defective end clutch
