Differential Carrier Replacement
Fig. 1 Differential Carrier Removal:
DIFFERENTIAL CARRIER REPLACE
1. Remove differential carrier in sequence as shown, noting following:
a. Make mating mark on differential companion flange and flange of yoke for reference during reassembly.
b. Support lower section of differential carrier with a jack when removing carrier.
2. Reverse procedure to install, noting following:

a. Install mount stopper as shown.
b. Do not damage oil seal of differential carrier with spline section of companion shaft. Righthand shaft on vehicles that have LSD with VCU has a two stage serration. Left and right end can be determined from stampings on companion shaft.

c. Fill differential carrier with GL-5 gear oil or higher.
