Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor: Description and Operation

DESCRIPTION
The fuel tank pressure differential sensor will convert the pressure in the fuel tank to voltage and input it to the engine control module.

NOTE: Only models equipped with California emissions have this sensor.

OPERATION
5 volt power is supplied to the fuel tank pressure differential sensor from the engine control module (ECM), and the sensor ground circuit is located within the ECM.





The fuel tank pressure differential sensor output voltage is proportional to the fuel tank pressure.
