Component Tests and General Diagnostics

1. Connect a hand vacuum pump to nipple (A) of the solenoid (refer to the illustration).
2. Check airtightness by applying a vacuum with voltage applied directly from the battery to the evaporative emission ventilation solenoid and without applying voltage.

Battery voltage Normal condition

Applied Vacuum maintained
Not applied Vacuum leaks





3. Measure the resistance between the terminals of the solenoid.

Standard value: 17 - 21 ohms [at 20° C (68° F)]
