Body Sill Cladding - Removal
REMOVAL
Special Tools:
1. As a guide for installation, apply a length of masking tape on the bodyside, parallel to the top edge of the body side cladding.
2. Raise and support the vehicle.
3. If desired, remove the front wheel.
4. Remove the fasteners (2) from the front fascia spat (1).
5. Remove the front fascia spat (1).
6. Remove the six fasteners (2) from the bottom edge of the sill cladding (1).
7. Inspect the nut inserts (3), replace if necessary.
CAUTION: Do not exceed 32° C (90° F) when heating the cladding or body panels. Failure to follow this caution may result in damage to the cladding and/or the vehicle paint finish.
8. If the temperature is below 21° C (70° F), warm the body side cladding with a heat lamp or heat gun.
NOTE: The body side sill cladding is attached to the cab with adhesive tape in conjunction with snap retainers. If required, apply 3M(TM) General Purpose Adhesive Cleaner or equivalent onto the cladding area to help loosen the adhesive tape.
9. Using trim stick C-4755, carefully pry the sill cladding (1) away from the bodyside to disengage the snap retainers.
10. Remove and discard the sill cladding (1).
